- How can a person apply for the
selection to a post?
One can
apply for the selection to a particular post
when the advertisement is published by the
Commission in the Gujarat Rojgar Samachar and
News papers. The applicant’s candidature in the
said selection is valid only if he/she satisfies
all the eligibility criteria specified in the
advertisement as well as the modalities for
applying for the said advertisement. The
application forms designed and printed by the
Commission are available at the office of the
Commission and on website.
- When does the Commission publish
advertisement?
The Commission
publishes the advertisement to a post after
receipt of the requisition from the respective
Department of Secretariat.
- What are the conditions to be
satisfied by a person for applying to a
selection to a post?
A person
applying for a selection shall satisfy all the
eligibility criteria given in the
advertisement.
- What is the age limit prescribed for
the selection to posts conducted by the
Commission?
The age limits
(upper & lower) for a particular post are
given in detail in the advertisement for that
post. Normally, five years relaxation is given
to Candidates belonging to SC/ST/SEBC, subject
to provision of the concerned
advertisement.
- Which is the date based on which the
age of an applicant is
calculated?
The age of an
applicant is calculated in respect of the last
date of the receipt of application form
mentioned in the concerned
advertisement.
- If an applicant acquired the
Qualifications i.e. Educational Qualification,
Experience etc. prescribed subsequent to the
last date of receipt of application for the
selection concerned, will his application be
admitted for the said
selection?
No, the applicant
shall acquire all the prescribed educational
qualification, experience etc. for the post
before the last date of the receipt of the
application form of the concerned
advertisement.
- How are the vacancies filled up
between SC & ST Candidates in respect of
Special Recruitment for SC &
ST?
No interchangeability is
permissible.
- Give the details of percentage of
Reservation given to the Socially &
Educationally Backward Class (SEBC), Scheduled
Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST)
candidates?

- How are the Ranks of candidates in a
selection assigned while preparing the Merit
List concerned?
The Ranks are
assigned based on the descending order of total
marks secured in the Written Test and interview
by each candidate. If more than one candidate
secures equal mark, then respective Rank
position of such candidates are assigned in the
descending order of their age.
- The Reserved Category Candidates
will be advised for appointment against
Reservation post alone. Is it
true?
No. Candidates of reserved
categories are also recommended for General
category post, if he/she satisfies all the
criteria applicable to the candidate of General
category.
- Will the Commission accept a Non
Creamy Layer Certificate issued prior to a
period of 3 months?
The
Commission accept the Non-Creamy Layer
Certificate (NCLC) issued in the preceding
financial year of concerned
advertisement.
- Will the Commission accept a
Non-Creamy Layer Certificate issued in relation
to jobs under Central
Government?
No. The candidate
should submit Non-Creamy Layer Certificate
(NCLC) to the Commission in the form prescribed
by the Social Justice and Empowerment
Department.
- When does the Commission accept
equivalent qualifications in
selections?
If there is no
provision in advertisement to accept the
equivalent qualification other than those
prescribed in the Rule, the same cannot be
accepted. Qualification can be accepted as
equivalent only after it is declared by
executive
orders.
