Summery -Annual Report 2007-2008
  1. Recruitment by Direct Selection:
    (1)   During the year, 107 advertisements were published. Out of these, 4 were for "Special Drive Recruitment". The Commission interviewed 1908 candidates for recruitment to various posts. In all, 1078 candidates were recommended for appointment including 59 candidates was recommended for appointments from the waiting list prepared in the previous year.
    (2)   During the year, 12 Preliminary Tests were held.
  2. Competitive Examination:
    During the year, the Commission did not publish any advertisement for Competitive Examination. But received applications / requisition for 3 Special Competitive Examinations. Results of 6 Competitive Examinations of previous year and Result of 1 Competitive Examinations of current year were declared, Thus, in all 59 candidates were recommended during the year. At the end of year, 2 Special Competitive Examinations are yet to be held.
  3. Recruitment Rules:
    During the year, the Commission rendered advice for framing / amendment of Recruitment Rules, in 23 and 33 proposals respectively. At the end of the year, the publications of Notifications are pending for framing / amendment of Recruitment Rules, in 39 and 14 proposals respectively.
  4. Disciplinary Proposals:
    During the year, the Commission rendered advice in 287 disciplinary proposals. At the end of the year, 88 proposals are pending with the Government for orders.
    The Commission rendered advice in three proposals of Review / Reconsideration of the punishment orders, during the year.
  5. Select List:
    During the year, the Commission received 104 proposals, for the promotion of 883 officers. The Commission rendered advice for 851 officers and information was sought from the Government in respect of remaining 32 officers.
    In addition to above, a Joint Selection Committee held 6 meetings during the year and considered cases of 73 officers.
  6. Appointment by Promotion:
    During the year, the Commission rendered advice for 103 officers and information was sought from the Government in respect of 7 officers.
  7. Ad hoc Appointment:
    During the year, the Commission rendered advice for 283 officers in respect of Ad hoc appointment.
  8. Appointment by Transfer:
    During the year, the Commission rendered advice for 12 officers in respect of appointment by Transfer.
  9. Recruitment of candidates on reserved posts:During the year, the Commission had recommended the following candidates, including women candidates for appointment to the reserved posts through Direct Selection and on the basis of the results of the Competitive Examination.

    The Commission did not receive any proposal during the year.
    12     Laxity and other irregularities in consulting the Commission
    During the year, the Commission noticed 44 cases of laxity and other irregularities in consulting the Commission.
    13     Cases in which the Commission did not agree with the proposal of the Government
    During the year, the Commission did not agree with the proposals of the Government, in respect of the 99 officers.
    14     Non-acceptance of the Commission's advice by the Government
    Three cases of non-acceptance of the Commission's advice have been found during the year under report.
    15     Candidates declared disqualifiedDuring the year under report three candidates have been declared disqualified by the Commission
